ABOUT THE BOOK
Lewick was once a prodigy destined for greatness within the mysterious Arliden Society, an organization for humans with special abilities—but now, his powers are no more, and he has been shunned out of the society as a result.
Nuriene is a young orphan on the verge of losing her livelihood as a newspaper journalist. These two teenagers lead separate lives while in the industrious city of Leverrath, a town filled with factories, smoke, and an endless supply of work to be done. Nuriene figures out Lewick’s identity, and wonders, just what goes on in this so called Arliden Society, and why do they kick out those who lose their powers?
Her desire to discover the truth leads her to cross paths with Lewick, but how will she get the answers she’s looking for?
WHY WE LOVE IT
The Arliden Prodigy is a middle-grade comic/novel hybrid, aimed at readers aged 8-12. It’s drawn in a manga style—great for kids who love manga, and for their parents and educators who are looking for books with more reading material. Perfect for readers who love themes of kids with special abilities, secret societies, and young protagonists navigating a complex world. Although fictional, The Arliden Prodigy introduces readers into real themes of energy, electricity, steam innovation, and the industrial revolution of the 1800s.
