LumicPress Launches Its First-Ever Children’s Manga-Style Magazine

Are you looking for manga books for kids that combine engaging stories, soulful illustrations, and opportunities for creativity?

The new children’s manga-style magazine, “LumicPress Magazine, Issue #1” combines comics, stories, crafts, and activities for creative young readers.

A New Kind of Manga-Style Book for Kids

LumicPress Magazine, Issue #1 brings together manga-style comic artists, writers, and illustrators for a diverse collection of stories and creative activities designed to feel both varied and cohesive. The 70-page debut issue features four short comics, a poem comic, illustrated short stories, paper dolls, craft activities, and an interview with a professional creative studio. The stories span a wide range of genres and experiences; from a heartfelt tale about a cat and dog learning to become friends, to a comedic comic about a demon navigating life as a teenage girl, to a teenager whose confession to her crush is repeatedly interrupted by monsters and alien invasions. Together, these stories offer young readers a chance to discover different characters, worlds, art styles, and ways of telling a story, all within a single issue.

Reminiscent of magazines like Cricket, Highlights, and Kazoo, it also takes inspiration from Japanese manga magazines such as Weekly Shonen Jump and CoroCoro Comic and blends them together to create something entirely different. LumicPress Magazine Issue #1 not only gives young readers stories to consume, it also invites them into a world of comics, art, poetry, crafts, and creative experimentation.
